After completing MBBS from Calicut Medical College, Dr shyam did his MD in Internal Medicine from the Institute of National Importance, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in India (JIPMER), Pondicherry where he was awarded Krishnaswami memorial Prize for the best outgoing resident.
After this, he was awarded Diplomate of National board in Internal Medicine and Neurology examination conducted in PGI Chandigarh, and later was conferred Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences(MNAMS).
Dr. Chandran completed his adult and Pediatric Neurology residency training from the Premier Institute for Neurosciences ,National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS),Bangalore after a competitive examination where he stood first at all india level entrance which is a tertiary neurological center for both adult and pediatric patients.
Dr Shyam Babu Chandran pursued his further subspeciality training and completed a one year fellowship in Movement Disorders (Parkinsonism of related Disorders) from the prestigious SCTIMST, Trivandrum where he got trained in Deep Brain Stimulation and complicated Botox injections.
Late he worked as a consultant in Neurology & movement disorders in an 800-bed super-specialty hospital in Coimbatore (KMCH), India and visiting consultant in a large subspecialty center for about 4 years before moving to UAE.
Dr Shyam Babu Chandran joined Zulekha hospital and established tertiary neurological Care . Initiated Movement Disorders Practice and started Botox for chronic migraine patients and various neurological conditions like hemi facial spasm, Blepharospasm, Writers cramp, Spasticity and Cervical dystonia. He has done about 500 injections of Botox without any complications and has established Acute stroke care team lead by neurology-neurosurgery, Interventional radiologist and physiotherapist and has been doing IV thrombolysis, Mechanical thrombectomy and work up for carotid artery disease and stenting. He has started interventional headache therapies like occipital nerve blocks, and Botox for chronic migraine.

Following this, he worked as neurologist at new Kasr El-Ainy teaching hospital in Egypt for 3 years. Also Dr Elshafei has worked as a Neurology specialist in Air-Forces specialized hospital and international medical center in Egypt for 2 years .

Dr Satish has over seven years of experience in the field of advanced Therapeutic Neurointerventions in various brain and spinal vascular disorder and peripheral vascular interventions. He has good experience in neuro-interventional procedures, with expertise in diagnosing & treating complex neurovascular malformations like acute stroke, aneurysms, AVM, DAVF, and Carotid stenosis. He also specialises in peripheral vascular interventions like angioplasty, stenting, and image (USG/CT) guided non vascular interventions.
Prior to joining to Zulekha Hospital Dr Sathish worked in various hospital and medical centres in India that includes Royalcare Super Speciality Hospital and GKNM Hospital. He has also served as Senior Registrar – Radiology in JIPMER, Puducherry and in Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum.

He has been vastly exposed to all central nervous system, pathologies and diagnostic modalities and has mastered all surgical approaches and techniques related to brain and spine surgery.
He practiced modern neurosurgery in several tertiary care medical centers and university hospitals in Lebanon, where he founded and chaired the Neurosurgery departments and introduced modern neurosurgical approaches, mostly in brain and spine tumors, and mastered intra-operative monitoring technology.
Dr. Salim served in Al-Ahsa Hospital in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as Neurosurgery Consultant and Chairman of department, where he practiced modern neurosurgery and gained wide experience.

The nervous system is a major and complex system in the human body. It is the controls all parts of the body through nerves.

What is a neurological examination?

Typically, the exam tests vision, strength, coordination, reflexes and sensation. This information helps the neurologist determines the site of lesion in the nervous system. Further tests may be needed to confirm a diagnosis or to find a specific treatment.

What is mild brain injury?
